Fishing with The Gralewski Family

I was lucky enough to have Bob Gralewski’s family choose me as their guide for two awesome days of fishing this past week. The first day was at Hot Creek. Bob’s oldest son Jack caught a brown on his second cast! Fishing was good at Hot Creek the first day, but The San Joaquin on the second day was unreal. I picked out some nice water for Bob and his wife Kelly to start fishing. The three boys and I headed down a bit to some great looking water. Before their parents came down river to meet back up with us, all kids had already landed multiple fish. Soon we were all fishing together. The water was warm enough to wet wade, the sun was out, and the whole Gralewski family were fly fishing together. Thank you to The Gralewski’s for an amazing couple of days guiding!!

Nathan, we were the lucky ones. More important than casting, fly selection, or fish spotting (all of which we learned in spades), you provided us with an appreciation for the sport and taught us how to respect the trout and the space around us. And you were amazing with the kids! We’re looking forward to another outing with you in the fall. Not sure if Grady will put his fly box down in the meantime….
